If you enjoy riding your motorcycle and are looking for a group of fun women to ride with, then Dykes On Bikes® – Salt Lake is for you.
The most important commitment of DoB membership is an open mind and open heart. Of course, we have meetings, collect dies, have incredible rides and events, and volunteer in the community.
If you live in Utah and are interested in becoming a member, you are invited to join us on our next ride, event, or send us an email.
Whether you first meet us on a ride, at an event, or through a friend, or maybe this website. All people interested in membership start by meeting us either individually or as a group. If you like what you see and see yourself as part of our community…then by all means, hang around with us…
A hang around is exactly what it sounds like. You like what you see in Dykes on Bikes® – Salt Lake … you have become a friend with one or more members and like going to our parties, events, and on our rides. You are not an actual member yet, but if you want to help out and be involved, then by all means, hang around with us… If, while hanging around with us, you make friends, help out, and continue to show your interest, you may be offered the opportunity of prospective membership and become a formal “Prospect”
You can expect a minimum of three (3) months of being a “Hang Around” before being considered for becoming a Prospective Member … more commonly known as a “Prospect”. As “Hang Around”, you will be introduced to our DoB-SL Code of Conduct.
Prospective membership is the formal process of becoming a member of Dykes on Bikes® – Salt Lake and is by invitation of the Chapter. Our prospect program is set forth in our bylaws, closely overseen by our leadership, and supervised by our Vice President. Upon accepting an invitation to prospect, the prospect must pay a prospect fee*, understand and sigh the DOB-SL Code of Conduct, and will be assigned a mentor from among the full “patched” members, and participate in the club actively for 6 to 18 months. During this time, the prospect is provided the opportunity to grow in participation and input within the chapter, and take the opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to our mission, values, and positive impact on the community. At least once during the prospective period, the prospect’s mentor, together will present the prospect for formal full patched membership. Acceptance as a “Prospect” does not guarantee DoB membership or a patch.
*Currently, the prospect fee is $200.00, which includes first-year dues.
Upon a formal vote of the chapter, a Prospect may be granted status as a full-patched member of Dykes on Bikes® – Salt Lake. When a “Prospect” is “Patched” the members will formally sign membership paperwork and be provided with a Dykes on Bikes® membership patch. Becoming a Patched Member signifies membership and continuing involvement in all aspects of Dykes on Bikes® – Salt Lake.
